Dear Friends,

We were recognized this year by our community as “Best on the Shoreline” in the category of animal rescue. We proudly continue to provide for the feeding, shelter, and care of homeless, abandoned, and feral cats; educate the public about the importance of spay/neuter population control, responsible pet ownership and kindness to animals; and maintain an ongoing community network to achieve these goals.

Animal rescue always begins with a big question: Because not all health issues are immediately evident, we cannot know in advance what the related vetting expenses of a rescue will be.

Consequently, we try very hard to balance the basic medical needs of the many, like vaccinations and neutering, with the acute needs of some exceptional cases. The continuing and steady support of our sponsors, supplemented when needed by case-by-case donations, enables us to achieve this balance.

Our shelter manager receives requests daily for rescue assistance from area residents and local animal control agencies. Since January 1 we have taken in more than 277 cats/kittens and currently have over 106 cats and kittens under our care in our shelter and in foster homes. This year we have adopted out over 250 cats and kittens, bringing the total adoptions since we opened our shelter in 2011, to over 2,785.

We need your help NOW so we can continue fulfilling our mission!
